Aluminum CNC machining — 6061, 7075, T6 temper.
High-volume production-friendly. Aerospace brackets, housings, heatsinks, consumer enclosures. ±.0002" repeatable across 200+ stocked grades. AS9100D + ITAR.
Pick the alloy that matches the application.
Aluminum is the most common machined material at K+G — it covers 60%+ of production volume. Aluminum's machinability is excellent, but alloy choice still matters for strength, corrosion, and surface finish.
6061-T6
The workhorse. Good strength-to-weight, weldable, anodizable, machines beautifully. Aerospace brackets, structural plates, robotics frames, enclosures.
7075-T6
Higher strength than 6061. Often spec'd for aerospace structural where weight matters most. More expensive, less weldable, machines well with sharp tooling.
Cast aluminum (A356, 6063)
Extruded and cast aluminum for housings and heatsinks where wall thickness drives the design. Run with chip-evacuation strategies tuned to the alloy.
